LITO Private Hospital is a modern, high standard medical facility,
located in Paralimni, Cyprus. It was established in 1988 and is licensed by the Health Ministry of Cyprus to operate as a
private hospital.
LITO Private Hospital aims to provide its patients with a level of
care that is sensitive to each individual's needs. The
current capacity of the hospital is 46 beds in single and double rooms,
as well as 4 beds for intensive care. Rooms are equipped with
direct dial telephone, TV, air-conditioner, central heating, WC and
shower. The hospital has three operating theatres with one
being used exclusively for aseptic cases. A recovery room is attached to the
theatres.
The hospital offers a wide range of orthopaedic surgical and other medical procedures including colorectal surgery and general elective surgery.
Orthopaedic procedures
The orthopaedics and trauma unit at
LITO Private
Hospital provides a service for patients suffering from injury and for
those having conditions affecting their bones and joints.
Trauma patients may be admitted by
the Accident & Emergency department whereas those not requiring
emergency admission are seen in a dedicated fracture clinic that takes
place 7 days a week.
A comprehensive plan of investigation
and treatment is designed for each individual. The aim of this is to
identify patients who have, or are at risk of developing, osteoporosis
and initiate treatment and lifestyle advice to minimise the potential
damage this disease can cause.
General surgery
LITO Private Hospital provides a comprehensive
range of
general surgical procedures both for inpatients and in day-care
settings. The depth of sub-specialty expertise in the department is
extensive and the standard of general surgical expertise high, including
laparoscopic surgery (minimally invasive or "keyhole" surgery) wherever clinically appropriate.
A comprehensive pre-assessment
service checks all patients 2 to 3 weeks prior to surgery to ensure that
they are fit and fully prepare for their operations.
Patients are admitted and discharged
on the same day unless they need to spend an extra few hours in
hospital.
Staff
The medical staff of the hospital consists of 36 permanently based medical doctors. There is 24-hour cover with an in-house
doctor outside working hours and specialists on call.
Nursing staff consists
mainly of qualified nurses and some experienced assistant nurses.
The hospital also employs qualified kitchen, laundry and cleaning
personnel as well as skilled office administrators and customer service oriented reception staff.
Facilities and services
Sometimes people don’t know where to get help and may feel disoriented while in a foreign country. At LITO the patient advice & liaison service is the first
port of call for support. They can provide important information for
patients about the medical services, visiting relatives etc.
If Greek is not your first language, the hospital can provide an
interpreting service in many languages. Medical, nursing and
administrator personnel speak English, German, Italian, Polish,
Scandinavian and other European languages.
LITO Private Hospital is contracted with most European insurance
companies so the insurance department can deal directly with the
insurance companies on your behalf. They are also able to offer hotel accommodation at competitive prices if you wish to make the most of your stay in Cyprus.
A minibus is available everyday for transfers to destinations in the Ayia Napa-Protaras-Paralimni area, free of charge.
